Opportunity: Director of Human Resources

This leader will oversee all facets of HR, ensuring the hotel attracts, develops, and retains top talent while fostering an inclusive and engaged workplace. Essential Job Functions
- Employee Experience & Culture – Foster a positive, service-driven culture through impactful employee relations programs, engagement initiatives, and leadership coaching, ensuring an inclusive and inspiring workplace.
Strategic Leadership – Oversee all facets of human resources, including talent acquisition, training, scheduling, performance management, and associate engagement, ensuring alignment with brand standards while upholding HHM core values.
Talent Acquisition & Development – Lead a proactive recruitment strategy, guiding hiring managers in selecting the most qualified candidates. Oversee the full-cycle recruitment process, onboarding, and career development programs to attract and retain top-tier hospitality professionals.
Compliance & Integrity – Ensure HR policies and procedures comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Conduct and oversee internal investigations related to workplace concerns with discretion and professionalism.
Training & Performance Excellence – Design and implement development programs that elevate service excellence and operational performance.
Collaboration & Execution – Partner with HHM’s centralized Human Resources teams to administer benefits, compensation, and compliance programs effectively. Provide guidance on payroll administration and associate support functions as needed.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.
- 10+ years previous Human Resources experience, preferably in a luxury hospitality setting.
- Human Resource certification and/or involvement in local hotel HR community preferred.
- Strong knowledge of California labor laws and employment practices.
Work Environment and Context
- Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays and weekends.
- Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 15 pounds, bending and reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
