POSITION DESCRIPTION

Storeroom Attendant

Executive Steward – Storeroom Manager

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for ensuring a well operating purchasing department, supplying product to hotel as needed. While maintaining storage areas in a clean, organized, safe manner and maintaining the security of property assets at all times.

Experience:

Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience, previous Hospitality experience preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities for the Storeroom Attendant include but are not limited to:

  • Fill food requisitions for the Kitchen, Restaurant, Room Service, Banquets, Cafeteria, Bar, etc.
  • Cost out food requisitions while filling.
  • Inventory of dry foods.
  • Assist with month end inventory.
  • Receive dry goods products.
  • Cost out dry food items and reshelf.
  • Help with food receiving when necessary.
  • Periodically responsible for ordering items such as bread.
  • Maintain cleanliness of food storerooms.
  • Fill general storeroom requisitions.
  • Store paper supplies in storeroom.
  • Performance of food rotation and can goods inventory.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

In addition to performance of key responsibilities, this position may be required to possess a combination of the following skills and experiences:

  • Must be able to communicate clearly with guests, customers, supervisor and fellow employees.
  • Physical requirements – ability to work for extended periods of time standing, or walking within the hotel operation, which will include lifting, pushing, pulling and/or carrying up to 20 pounds.
  • Willingness to assist co-workers and guests beyond normal job duties
  • Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities in professional manner
  • Willingness to assist co-workers and guests beyond normal job duties
  • Ability to follow Universal Standards, including Guest Etiquette, Employee Etiquette, Phone Etiquette, Service Etiquette, and Ownership
  • Due to the seasonal nature of the hospitality industry, and the fact that the hotel provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, any employee may be required to work rotating shifts, night shifts, and/or overtime.
