Compensation: $22.00 to $23.00 per hour

Opportunity: Corporate Legal Internship

HHM Hotels (a leading hotel management and investment company) is looking for a legal intern to join its legal department. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn from law firm trained attorneys and gain exposure to legal operations as well as real estate transactional matters. Through the course of this internship, you will gain exposure to contract review, real estate transactions, liquor licensing and other operational matters.

This summer internship is based at the Philadelphia Headquarters office.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist legal team in contract review, franchise agreements, licenses and permits, and other legal tasks.
  • Assist with litigation matters, including litigation intake and review of related materials.
  • Assist legal team with review and analysis of agreements and contracts, including purchase and sale agreements, financing documents and other real estate transaction documents.

Position Requirements

  • First or second-year law students.
  • Work experience prior to law school preferred.
  • Strong interest in real estate transactions or hospitality preferred.
  • Familiarity with the structure of various real estate entities, including joint ventures, partnerships, limited liability companies, limited liability partnerships, and other special purpose entities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage information flow.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work on independent tasks.
  • Functional in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel and related programs for underwriting and financing hotel development projects.
  • Solid presentation and power point skills as well as strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform extremely well when faced with managing multiple priorities under time constraints.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Work Environment and Context

  • Typical for office environment, may require occasional weekend/evening work.
  • Requires sitting for extended periods, use of hands and fingers to operate computers and keyboards.
