Opportunity: People Support Generalist (HR Compliance)

HHM Hotels is a leading hotel management and investment company with a portfolio of over 235 hotels and resorts spanning North America. The organization takes pride in operating over 50 independent luxury and lifestyle hotels as well as premium branded hotels in urban and resort markets.

HHM Hotels is seeking an HR compliance-focused People Support leader responsible for creating and administering employment initiatives across the organization. Reporting directly to the Vice President of People Support (HR), this individual will partner with sub-disciplines within the department to ensure employment laws are adhered to across office and hotels.

This role is based in our Philadelphia Corporate Office, but will be focused on our U.S. employment workforce from coast to coast.

Your Focuses

  • Lead initiatives to ensure compliance across the HR suite of services (including, but not limited to required onboarding documentation, FLSA and wage and hour rules, DOL regulations, NLRB rules, EEO reporting, and OSHA procedures).
    • Additional compliance leadership on state and local laws such as meal periods and rest breaks, fair workweek and predictive scheduling requirements, etc.
  • Advise hotel managers on implementation or operation of compliance programs for both HHM Hotels employees as well as third party staffing vendors.
  • Serve as a valued member of the People Support team by educating colleagues throughout offices and hotels on new and existing laws, as well as attend webinars on legal updates on behalf of HR team.
  • Working with internal and external counsel, create and administer human resources policies and procedures to stay in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Draft and write HR policies, SOPs, memos, and email, exhibiting proficient communication skills to all levels throughout the organization.
  • Conduct periodic internal reviews and audits to ensure that HR and compliance procedures are followed throughout employee population centers in roughly 40 states.
  • Assist with HR analytics supporting compliance and employment programs such as turnover, labor cost modeling, etc.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management related to HR operations, employee relations, etc.

Your Skills and Background

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field and 4-7+ years previous Human Resources experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with hospitality or service-related workforce highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of all applicable US federal, state and local employment, health and safety regulations.
  • SHRM or HRCI certification(s) preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge and application of Microsoft Excel for organization and analysis.
  • May include limited travel for various HR initiatives.
  • Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 15 pounds, bending and reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
