Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-orientedAssistant Bar & Cafe Attendantto support daily operations in our bar and cafe environment. This role assists with beverage preparation, food service, and maintaining a clean, organized space while helping deliver an exceptional guest experience. The ideal candidate is reliable, eager to learn, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
This is a seasonal opportunity beginning mid-may through October 31st.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with preparation and batching of house beverages, including sangria and spritz selections, during designated prep times
- Support bartending operations by preparing and serving wine, sangria, and spritz under supervision
- Operate POS system to process guest orders accurately and efficiently
- Assist with gelato service using a capsule-style system
- Support barista operations, including preparing coffee and espresso beverages
- Help serve light bites such as oysters, shrimp, olives, and focaccia while maintaining presentation and food safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, cafe, and service areas at all times
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including setup, stocking, breakdown, and cleaning
- Restock supplies and notify management of inventory needs
- Provide friendly, attentive service and support team members to ensure a positive guest experience
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food service, barista, or hospitality preferred but not required
- Willingness to learn multiple service functions in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Basic knowledge of wine, coffee, or cocktails is a plus
- Ability to operate POS systems (or willingness to learn)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift light to moderate items
Preferred Skills:
- Interest in hospitality and food & beverage operations
- Familiarity with coffee/espresso machines
- Basic understanding of food safety and handling practices
