In-Room Dining Supervisor

Oversee IRD team operations to ensure daily functions are being met and Forbes standards are being followed.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop training and test for both server and coordinator position in In-Room Dining
  • Point person for all new hire training
  • Ability to manage several tasks at a time and communicate orders to the In-Room Dining Servers.
  • Ensure necessary inventory of food and beverage and other supplies within budget and cost requirements.
  • Abide state, federal and corporate liquor requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Respond to customer needs, issues, comments and problems to ensure a quality experience and enhance future sales.
  • Report all communication to the immediate shift supervisor.
  • Manage and monitor product quality, service and guest satisfaction, resolving any issues accordingly.
  • Complete shift side work as outlined in the hotel’s operating policies and procedures.
  • Perform cash handling responsibilities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM’s EarthView program.
  • Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.

AM Supervisor Responsibilities:

Ordering/Receiving & Inventory

  • AM Supervisor is to not just plan for the day but for the week. They are to communicate with Purchasing Director and F&B Director for needs.
    • Examples above just a coordinator: Tea Kettles & Cords, Dog Bowls, Ice Buckets/Lids & Tongs, Wine Buckets, linen, ect.
    • Food/Bev/Paper Pars for traditional weekends and long weekends, holidays.
    • Confirm all items received or not available in pass down
    • Creating weekly inventory of above items and submit to FB Director weekly & we will order together.

Amenities

  • PM Supervisor will maintain the book but AM supervisor will have written SOP for amenity sheet & Req. making.

IRD Coordinators & Servers

  • Point Person for AM Training
  • Daily Breaks must be taken and finding coverage for server breaks
  • Forbes Training/Testing of staff is continuous
  • Work with Manger for Daily meeting (quick and informative)

PM Supervisor Responsibilities:

Ordering/Receiving & Inventory

  • Communicating with AM Supervisor what is needed for depleted items in PM
  • Work with Stewarding director to maintain all pars of silverware, plates, glasses. Communicate all items that need to be reordered, keep high stock of, ect.
    • Creating weekly inventory of above items and submit to FB Director weekly & we will order together.

Amenities

  • Amenity Standard Book – What are the Amenities, set up w/ pictures, where we place in the rooms, how we ring them up, how we tip out, what gets charged to the room/guests & what gets charged to the house
  • Work with FD Director & FB Director to create official verbiage for all amenities in process and the process as a whole.
  • Update/maintain SOP
  • Be Creative – What could we change?

Work Environment and Context

  • Work schedule varies and will include working on holidays and weekends.
  • Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 30 pounds, bending and reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
