Receiving Agent

The receiving agent is responsible for checking and receiving all goods and packages arriving to the hotel. This position also ensures that all deliveries correspond to the specifications set forth by the hotel with regards to quality, quantity, and price.

Overview

  • To perform his/her job within the timeframe and norms set forth by the Director of Finance and the hotel.
  • Receives and controls all goods and products and ensures all storage rooms, coolers and loading docks are secured.
  • Properly retrieves and distributes each outlet’s requisition daily
  • Checks in all orders and deliveries and verify the quantity, quality, weight, and overall appearance of the products are up to the hotel’s standards.
  • Put away all products in such a way that they can be easily located. Use the FIFO (first in first out) method.
  • Communicate any deficiencies and urgently needed items to the Director of Finance.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of all storage rooms, walk in coolers, freezers and loading docks. Boxes should be organized and put away in its place. Open boxes should have the flaps cut off to portray a non-cluttered environment.
  • Assist in performing monthly inventory.
  • Verify and log temperatures of walk-in coolers and freezers and report problems immediately.
  • Notify the relevant departments of receipt of goods and to arrange for its collection or delivery.
  • Receive, log, and distribute all FedEx and UPS packages for both residential and hotel guests. Follow SOP for delivering guest packages.
  • Properly dispose of empty boxes and pallets in designated area
  • Maintain the loading dock organized, free and clear of any deliveries, boxes, or pallets
  • Attend and complete all classes deemed necessary for the position.
  • To understand and strictly adhere to the Rules and Regulations established in the Employee Handbook and the Hotel’s policies on Fire, Grooming, Health and Safety.
  • All potential hazards and defects are reported and rectified immediately
  • Report for your scheduled shift in proper uniform including but not limited to name tag, radio, and assigned keys.
  • Perform any reasonable request made by, but not limited to, department leader. Immediately report any challenges you might have in completing the task.
  • The responsibilities of the above position will be reviewed and amended as needed based on the needs of the hotel, the department, and the overall positive experience of the guest.

Position Requirements

  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including but not limited to weekends and holidays.
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Work in various climates and environments
  • Be forklift certified within first 90 days of being hired
  • Basic knowledge of computers, including but not limited to outlook, excel and word.

Work Environment and Context

  • Required to sit for extended periods, lift up to 10 pounds, bend, reach, use hands and fingers to operate keyboard.
