Compensation: $90,000 to $95,000 per year

JOB SUMMARY: Director of Sales

The Director of Sales is responsible for leading and managing all hotel sales activities, driving revenue, and developing strategic partnerships to ensure optimal occupancy and profitability. This position plays a key leadership role in setting and achieving the hotel’s revenue goals, while maintaining strong relationships with corporate clients, travel partners, event planners, and group business sources.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to maximize hotel revenue across all market segments including corporate, leisure, group, and transient.
  • Identify new business opportunities and actively pursue key accounts through direct sales efforts, cold calling, networking, and client entertainment.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor performance, and industry developments to adjust strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials, campaigns, and digital strategies that align with sales goals.
  • Work closely with the revenue management and front office teams to optimize rate strategies and inventory management.
  • Represent the hotel at trade shows, sales missions, networking events, and industry conferences.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and top-producing clients.
  • Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics to senior management.
  • Manage the department budget and control expenses to align with forecasted goals.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of hotel sales experience
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficiency with hotel sales systems (e.g., Delphi, Opera, Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as necessary.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in full-service, independent, or luxury hotel environments.
  • Familiarity with local and regional markets.
  • Knowledge of revenue management practices and principles.

Work Environment and Context

  • Work schedule varies and may include occasionally working on holidays, weekends.
  • Required to sit for extended periods, lift up to 10 pounds, bend, reach, use hands and fingers to operate keyboard.
  • Moderate travel between hotel and client’s locations required.
