Oversee and perform hotel accounting functions to ensure consistent compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and deadlines.

Essential Job Functions

  • Plan and organize the work of the hotel accounting functions, adjusting priorities as needed to ensure reporting deadlines are met.
  • Review all ledger account reconciliations to include: bank statements, assets, and liabilities.
  • Ensure the hotel complies with USALI and HHM accounting standards, controls, and procedures.
  • Process, review, and manage all Accounts Payables in accordance with established brand and hotel standards.
  • Process, review, and manage all Accounts Receivables in accordance with established brand and hotel standards.
  • Administers house banks and conducts audits.
  • Prepares daily cash and check deposits.
  • Prepare and post month-end and other journal entries.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements for accuracy.
  • Provide research, analysis and insight into financial trends, statistical ratios, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Monitor records of inventory to control accuracy of supply distribution.
  • Analyze financial data and operations in order to assist and advise management in maintaining the hotels’ financial objectives.
  • Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM’s EarthView program.
  • Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent industry experience required.
  • Prior management experience preferred.
  • Hospitality experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications (including intermediate skills in Excel) required.
